THE SHIP: Five Months Forever
IN PRODUCTION
Directed by Troels Hansen
Produced by Patricia Drati
Could you handle five months at sea away from family and friends and without any
connection to the outside world? In the documentary series THE SHIP – Five Months
Forever, we follow four young people – Amalie, Thea, Charlie Elvis and Inge-Marie –
who leave their everyday lives behind to set sail on an old three-masted ship.
For five intense months, they live in close quarters, sleeping side by side in hammocks,
eating together and working shoulder to shoulder as they learn about life as sailors.
Here, they confront their fears, learn to work together and put the community before
themselves. They encounter seasickness, conflicts and exhaustion – but also
magnificent sunsets, tranquillity and new friendships. They return home with new skills,
stronger bonds and experiences that forever bind them together as a crew and as
people. THE SHIP – Five Months Forever is a moving story about personal
development, courage and solidarity in a world without signal.
