MARIA HELGA STÜRUP
Producer Maria Helga Stürup has worked at Good Company Pictures for more than eight years.
She made her debut as a producer with the documentary “Nobody Knows Casper”, directed by René Odgaard, which premiered at CPH:DOX in 2022 and won Best Documentary at Doc.London. Maria is a EURODOC alumna (2023), where she participated with the project “First Woman” by director Patricia Drati, which is currently in production. She's also the producer, alongside Katrine A. Sahlstrøm of “Dear Tomorrow”, directed by Kaspar Astrup Schröder, which premiered at SXSW 2025 and was since selected for CPH:DOX, Visions du Réel and more. Most recently she produced "Becoming Ema" by director Patricia Drati with Sidsel L. Siersted, which will premiere at CPH:DOX 2026 in the NEXT:WAVE competition.
Maria holds a Master of Arts in Film and Media Studies with a specialization in Creative Media Industries from the University of Copenhagen and Erasmus University Rotterdam, graduating in 2019. Her master thesis examined how the risk willingness amongst Danish film producers are influenced by the industry surroundings, which was also written into a peer-reviewed article for the Journal of Media, Cognition and Communication as well as an article for the Danish film magazine Kosmorama.
