ORIENTE

IN DEVELOPMENT

Directed by Juan Hein

Produced by Sidsel Lønvig Siersted

Oriente is a western documentary about fatherhood, family, and identity seen through two danish-argentinian gauchos on the southern plains of Buenos Aires.

Luis is 25 years old and became an orphan as a 14 year old. He dances malambo everywhere and dreams about having a family with his young girlfriend. Gustavo is 52 years old and trains a horse to win another medal - he already won 16 - in a crillo-competition, while his youngest son of three, much to Gustavo's disappointment, leaves him alone with the work on the farm.

Luis' and Gustavo's paths crosses by coincident due to a smaller incident, which make them open up to each other.
