THE HUMAN SHELTER

2018

Directed by Boris Benjamin Bertram

Director and explorer Boris Benjamin Bertram embarks on a sensory journey across four continents over the course of two years. While filming in nine countries, he raises questions about the concept of home — a universally experienced phenomenon in many forms:

When does a refugee shelter in Iraq become a home? What can Arctic reindeer nomads teach Western city nomads about the concept of time? What does the future home look like on Mars? Across cultures and contexts, the film beautifully opens doors into humanity's inherent ability to live and poetically express the construction of a home.
